Used to emphasize that something is not limited to one point, but also includes other important additional information.
Explanation (解释 jiěshì)
Use 不仅仅 when you want to say "not only... but also...". This structure emphasizes that the information you are presenting does not stop at the first clause, but extends to another aspect — typically one that is more important or surprising — in the second clause.
The second clause is often paired with adverbs such as 也 (yě), 还 (hái), or 而且 (érqiě) to make the sentence more cohesive and natural.

- 他不仅仅会唱歌，还会跳舞。繁: 他不僅僅會唱歌，還會跳舞。Tā bù jǐn jǐn huì chàng gē, hái huì tiào wǔ.
He not only knows how to sing but also knows how to dance.
- 这不仅仅是我的问题。繁: 這不僅僅是我的問題。Zhè bù jǐn jǐn shì wǒ de wèn tí.

Common mistakes
- Wrong:他不仅仅聪明，很努力。Correct:他不仅仅聪明，而且很努力。
The second clause typically requires connectives like 也, 还, or 而且 to link ideas; without them the sentence will sound unnatural.
- Wrong:不仅仅他去，我也。Correct:不仅仅他去，我也去。
The second clause must be a complete sentence; the verb cannot be omitted as it can be in Vietnamese.
