经过Process/Matter,Result Clause

经过 is used to indicate a result achieved after a certain process or event.

经过 has two main uses:

As a verb, meaning to pass, to go past a place. For example: 我每天都经过这个公园 (I pass by this park every day).
As a preposition, meaning through, after undergoing a process, event, or effort. This is the common grammatical use, employed to connect a process with its result. It emphasizes that the result is achieved by means of that process.

经过努力，他成功了。
繁: 經過努力，他成功了。Jīngguò nǔlì, tā chénggōng le.
After making an effort, he succeeded.
经过讨论，我们决定了。
繁: 經過討論，我們決定了。Jīngguò tǎolùn, wǒmen juédìng le.
After discussion, we made a decision.
经过治疗，他的病好了。
繁: 經過治療，他的病好了。Jīngguò zhìliáo, tā de bìng hǎo le.
After treatment, his illness was cured.
我每天上学都经过公园。
繁: 我每天上學都經過公園。Wǒ měitiān shàngxué dōu jīngguò gōngyuán.
I pass by the park every day on my way to school.
经过这次失败，我学到了很多。
繁: 經過這次失敗，我學到了很多。Jīngguò zhè cì shībài, wǒ xué dào le hěn duō.
Through this failure, I learned a great deal.

Wrong:我经过努力。
Correct:经过努力，我考上了大学。
经过 typically introduces a process that leads to a result. The sentence must have a result clause following it.
Wrong:经过昨天，我没去上课。
Correct:昨天我没去上课。
经过 requires a process or event as its object; it cannot be used with a pure time word like 昨天.
