况且
HSK 6- Conjunctions
Structure (结构 jiégòu)
Meaning (意思 yìsi)
况且 is used to add a stronger reason, further emphasizing what has already been stated.
Explanation (解释 jiěshì)
The conjunction 况且 (huàng qiě) is used to introduce an additional reason — typically one that is more important or more obvious — to reinforce the point made in the preceding clause. It is equivalent to "moreover," "besides," or "furthermore" in English. The clause following 况且 makes the overall argument more rigorous and persuasive.
