来 (lái) and 去 (qù) are two directional verbs expressing movement toward or away from the speaker.
Explanation (解释 jiěshì)
来 (lái) and 去 (qù) are the two most basic directional verbs. Which one to use depends entirely on the speaker's position.
- Use
来when the movement is directed toward the speaker. For example, if you are at home and invite a friend over, you use来. - Use
去when the movement is directed away from the speaker. For example, if you are at home and talk about going to school, you use去.

- 你什么时候来我家?繁: 你什麼時候來我家?Nǐ shénme shíhou lái wǒ jiā?
When will you come to my house?
- 我明天去学校。繁: 我明天去學校。Wǒ míngtiān qù xuéxiào.
