受到 + N + 的 + Verb
HSK 6- Passive (把/被)
Structure (结构 jiégòu)
Meaning (意思 yìsi)
The structure 受到...的... is used to express that the subject receives or undergoes an abstract influence or impact from a certain object.
Explanation (解释 jiěshì)
Use 受到 when expressing that the subject receives an abstract action or influence from someone/something. Unlike 被, which typically carries a negative connotation and refers to concrete actions, 受到 can be used for both positive and negative situations, e.g. 受到欢迎 (to be welcomed), 受到批评 (to be criticized).
