因为…所以…
HSK 2- Conjunctions
Structure (结构 jiégòu)
Meaning (意思 yìsi)
The paired conjunctions 因为…所以… are used to express a cause-and-effect relationship (because… therefore…).
Explanation (解释 jiěshì)
This is the most basic pair of conjunctions for expressing cause and result. 因为 (yīnwèi) introduces the reason, while 所以 (suǒyǐ) introduces the result. In spoken language, one of the two clauses is sometimes omitted when the meaning is already clear, but using both makes the sentence more cohesive and explicit.
