The adverb 一向 means "always up to now" or "habitually," used to emphasize an action, habit, or state that has been consistently maintained over a long period from the past up to the moment of speaking.
It typically refers to an established pattern or characteristic, and carries a slightly more formal tone than 一直 (continuously) or 总是 (always). 一向 cannot be used to refer to actions that will occur in the future.
