有 + B + 那么/这么 + Adjective
HSK 3- Comparison
Structure (结构 jiégòu)
Subject (A)有Object of comparison (B)那么/这么Adjective
Meaning (意思 yìsi)
Used to ask or affirm whether object A reaches the same degree (in terms of quality/property) as object B.
Explanation (解释 jiěshì)
This structure is used for equal comparisons, where 有 carries the meaning "to reach the degree of."
这么 (this way/like this) is used when the reference point is nearby or concrete, while 那么 (that way/like that) is used when the reference point is distant or more abstract.
Although it can appear in affirmative sentences (often to express surprise), this structure is most common in questions (...吗?) and negative sentences (using 没有). It asks whether A "is as... as" B.
