Structure (结构 jiégòu)
Meaning (意思 yìsi)
The structure 不论…都… is used to express that the result remains unchanged regardless of how the conditions may vary.
Explanation (解释 jiěshì)
Use 不论…都… to assert that a result will not change regardless of the condition. The part following 不论 is typically an interrogative-pronoun question (谁, 什么, 怎么) or an alternative construction (A还是B, V-不-V). The second clause must contain 都 or 也 to emphasize the all-inclusive sense of "it holds in every case."

- 不论天气怎么样，他都坚持跑步。繁: 不論天氣怎麼樣，他都堅持跑步。Bùlùn tiānqì zěnmeyàng, tā dōu jiānchí pǎobù.
Regardless of what the weather is like, he persists in running.
- 不论谁来，你都不要开门。繁: 不論誰來，你都不要開門。Bùlùn shéi lái, nǐ dōu bùyào kāimén.
No matter who comes, you should not open the door.
- 不论多难，我们都要完成任务。繁: 不論多難，我們都要完成任務。Bùlùn duō nán, wǒmen dōu yào wánchéng rènwu.
No matter how difficult it is, we must complete the task.
- 不论你去还是不去，我都要去。繁: 不論你去還是不去，我都要去。Bùlùn nǐ qù háishì bù qù, wǒ dōu yào qù.
Whether you go or not, I will go.
- 不论发生什么事，我都会在你身边。繁: 不論發生什麼事，我都會在你身邊。Bùlùn fāshēng shénme shì, wǒ dōu huì zài nǐ shēnbiān.
No matter what happens, I will always be by your side.
Common mistakes
- Wrong:不论他同意不同意，我做这个决定。Correct:不论他同意不同意，我都做这个决定。
The second clause of a 不论 sentence must have 都 or 也 to emphasize an unchanging result.
- Wrong:不论今天下雨，我都要去上课。Correct:不论今天下不下雨，我都要去上课。
After 不论, there must be an indefinite condition or choice (for example: whether it rains or not), not an already-known fact.
