Common mistakes
- Wrong:天气很冷，为此我多穿一件衣服。Correct:天气很冷，所以我多穿一件衣服。
为此 has a formal tone. For simple reasons in everyday life, using 所以 would be much more natural.
- Wrong:为此，他成功了。Correct:他努力了十年，为此他成功了。
为此 must have a specific cause stated in the preceding clause; it cannot be used alone without context.
