罢了 used at the end of a sentence to emphasize that the matter is nothing more than what it is, nothing significant; equivalent to "it's just… that's all."

罢了 (bàle) is a modal particle placed at the end of a sentence, used to downplay the degree or importance of what is being discussed. It carries the meaning of "it's just…," "nothing more than…"
This structure is often used together with adverbs such as 只是 and 不过 to further emphasize a modest tone or to explain that the matter is not as complicated as the listener might think. Using 罢了 gives the sentence a light, humble, or sometimes indifferent nuance.

Common mistakes
- Wrong:我只是会说一点儿汉语而已罢了。Correct:我只是会说一点儿汉语罢了。
罢了 and 而已 have similar meanings ("only; just"), so both should not be used together in the same sentence.
- Wrong:我只是罢了想帮你。Correct:我只是想帮你罢了。
